How the projections work

The model starts from each batter's recent form and season-long track record, then adjusts for the opposing starting pitcher, the ballpark and where the batter sits in the projected lineup. The same code runs for every player, every day — nothing is hand-picked. When a game starts its numbers are frozen, and when it ends they are graded against the real box score.
